I thought Disney canned its plan to develop The King of the Elves, an animated movie based on Philip K. Dick's short story. But well sounds like they changed their mind: The film King of the Elves is now back in development and it is being directed by Chris Williams who co-directed Bolt. It's still not clear yet if the film will be hand-drawn, CGI or a mix of both.
Here below a few early concept arts of the King of Elves movie (keep in mind that those are early drafts and that the project has likely evolved since then):

"King of the Elves is a fantasy tale about an average man living in the Mississippi Delta, whose reluctant actions to help a desperate band of elves leads them to name him their new king. Joining the innocent and endangered elves as they attempt to escape from an evil and menacing troll, their unlikely new leader finds himself caught on a journey filled with unimaginable dangers and a chance to bring real meaning back to his own life."
Let's hope that Disney is really going to develop the King of the Elves movie. I'd love to see this story on the big screen.
Anyway, stay tuned with us for more details about the movie King of the Elves.
